HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to manage and maintain our company’s enterprise infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing and mentoring junior infrastructure engineering staff and handling advanced support issues. Ultimately, you will be responsible for the functional management of our infrastructure, the delegation of tasks, and the resolution of network and infrastructure issues.

To ensure success as a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer, you should have extensive experience working with enterprise networks and systems, high-level managerial skills, and advanced project management skills. A Top-class Senior Infrastructure Engineer ensures the infrastructure team performs as a cohesive unit, maintaining the security, stability and performance of the network.

Some domestic travel required.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Collaborating with network and system architects to design and implement functional company systems.

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining networking hardware.

  • Creating and implementing network security measures.

  • Managing and mentoring junior staff.

  • Manage and solve escalated and after-hours infrastructure support issues.

  • Maintain datacenter organization and cleanliness.

  • Develop and execute proactive day-to-day operations tasks and maintenance of onsite datacenters, equipment and systems. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, maintain structured cabling organization, maintain infrastructure maintenance agreements and hardware inventory.

  • Conducting regular network/system performance tests and status reviews.

  • Maintaining infrastructure documentation.

  • Team building.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field. Or equivalent infrastructure experience (10+ years).

  • Previous work experience as a senior network/systems engineer in a high availability production environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of network design, operations, and monitoring.

  • Superior problem-solving skills

  • Proficient with LAN/WAN/VPN technologies including Fortigate, Dell and Cisco.

  • Knowledge of storage technologies and concepts

  • Experience with VOIP solutions

  • Proficient with Windows Server OS in a multi-site Active Directory implementation.

  • Maintain datacenter equipment lifecycle.

  • Knowledge of networking hardware including CPUs, wiring, and routers.

  • Experience with server virtualization technologies (VMWare, HyperVisor, etc).

  • Design, build-out and management of cloud technologies (Azure/AWS).

  • Experience with communication and IP routing protocols.

  • Experience with network analysis tools.

  • Scripting and automation experience.

  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.

  • Experience in an Agile/DevOps environment.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • High level written and verbal communication skills.

    Preferred Skills:

  • Linux/Unix Administration experience

  • MS SQL Server experience

  • Backup and DR architecture

  • Security design/implementation experience or certification

  • Knowledge and experience with ITSM best practices.

    Physical & Environmental requirements:

  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.

  • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

  • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

  • Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools.

  • Occasional exposure to low temperatures and high temperatures

  • Constant sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

  • Occasionally light to heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
