The Opportunity
This position works ONSITE out of our Livermore, CA location in the Heart Failure division. In Abbott’s Heart Failure (HF) business, we’re developing solutions to diagnose, monitor and manage heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
As the Front End UI Software Engineer III you will contribute to the design and development of software across one or more domains: mobile, web, desktop, and embedded under a disciplined product development process that focuses on user experience and UI and meets regulatory requirements.
Work on software design, coding, and validating software, supporting verification and validation testing, and ensuring that all product development conforms to design specifications and coding standards. Exercise judgment in coding following the software designs and conducting investigation activities following defined methods. And develop productive internal/external working relationships.
What You’ll Work On
Design and implement software in current UI front-end programming languages (e.g. HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, Blazor) in a Microsoft .Net environment.
High proficiency in translating complex UI/UX designs in Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Figma, wireframes into working, pixel perfect code.
Deep understanding of Responsive Web Design and how to create cross browser and cross platform solutions.
Partner with application engineers to integrate dynamic date into front end views.
Experience in implementing and maintaining a CSS precompiler such as SASS or LESS
Assist Product and Testers to validate solutions and improve usability
Working knowledge of UI specific debugging and optimization tools such as Chrome DevTools, Firebug, Profiler
Assist in the preparation of software design requirements and detailed design specifications for implementation of software designs per Abbott design development process.
Assist in the evaluation of selected designs through testing and full documentation of the results.
Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Required Qualifications
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or an equivalent combination of education, work experience or relevant software certification
4 years of experience in software development (combination of programming-heavy coursework, school projects, freelance work and professional experience)

The base pay for this position is $86,700.00 – $173,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
