Robert Half Financial Analyst I (Contractor) in Livermore, California

Description We are offering a role for a Financial Analyst based in Livermore, California, United States. The role involves working in the telecom industry, focusing on tasks such as preparing network payments and accruals, reconciling payments, and providing financial analysis reporting. The position is a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities include:

• Tracking and analyzing key financial metrics and operational procedures to foster process improvements and drive operational efficiencies and cost savings.

• Analyzing, reviewing, and modifying large data sets using various database and querying solutions to calculate payments and accruals and provide analytics and reporting.

• Participating in the development and utilization of financial models and analysis.

• Assisting in preparing budgets and forecasts.

• Evaluating financial risks and opportunities by creating and reviewing operational and financial metrics.

• Assisting with the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.

• Researching variance to budget and forecast through detailed operational and financial metrics and explaining results.

• Preparing and reviewing journal entries during month and year-end processes.

• Preparing and distributing financial reports and analysis to support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.

• Assisting in process improvement and standardization projects by identifying risk areas and recommending improvements.

• Performing various ad hoc projects including researching, analyzing, and summarizing data/analysis requests.

Skills required include communication, reporting, Microsoft Excel, analytics, payment processing, research, budget processes, and Microsoft Word. Requirements • Proficiency in financial analysis and financial reporting

• Demonstrated ability to handle payment processing

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and SQL

• Strong understanding of financial statement review, auditing, and quarterly closing processes

• Experience with Oracle and other database systems

• Highly skilled in budget processes and performing ad hoc financial tasks

• Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal

• Ability to utilize 'About Time' and other workstation support tools

• Experience with finance related research and analytics

• Knowledge of network systems is a plus

• Ability to create and maintain journal entries

• Comfortable with frequent reporting tasks.
