Surgery can be very scary for a patient. It’s our job to make sure surgical areas are ready for use when needed. Our Surg Techs ensure that the operating areas are sterile and clean while confirming all equipment needed works properly. Responsibilities

  • Assist the CVOR surgical team under the supervision of the surgeon and registered nurse.

  • Primarily functions as surgical assistant when appropriate (see functions of the surgical scrub and as second surgical scrub).

  • The surgical technologist will also assist in the circulating duties as delegated by an RN

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing with attendance of the core curriculum for perioperative nursing or equivalent training, and licensed to practice in the State of Arkansas

  • Graduate of an approved surgical technology program (one or two year program)

  • One year surgical experience required

  • Must have completed the required hospital and unit specific orientation period

  • Must be currently certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support & renewable every two years

  • Must be able to rotate taking surgical call (weeknights / weekends).

Pay Range

$22.89 - $33.20 /hour
