Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation Manager- Business Operations in Little Rock, Arkansas

The Business Operations Manager will be required to collaborate cross-divisionally with IT, Accounting, and other functional groups.

  • Manages and directs the activities of the Business Operations department by coordinating work through departments Managers/Directors, analysts, and office personnel.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Lead efforts to implement an ERP system for Business Operations, Utility Sales Warehouses and VMI’s, Purchasing, Logistics, and Energy Efficiency departments.

  • Coordinate and support cross-departmental and cross-divisional implementation of the ERP by coordinating with Managers/Directors and staff. Requires understanding of process relationships among various departments and divisions.

  • Manages and tracks terms, conditions, expiration dates of Master Service Agreements (authorizations), Volume Commitment Agreements, Commit to Buy, Blanket contracts, VMI contracts, Warehouse Lease Agreements, and other contracts as requested.

  • In partnership with USSD Managers/Directors, develops and managers critical reports communicating such reports to the USSD Management providing insight and recommended actions.

  • Leads Project Management functions for USSD as directed by USSD Managers/Directors. Utilizes team to collaborate with appropriate departments and divisions to establish project execution plans and milestone schedules and track progress and metrics to ensure successful, timely completion.

  • Manages data and analytics for USSD Departments, including but not limited to: historical sales data, inventory and cost data, gross and net productivity, market share, market and product forecasts, efficiency, variance reports, and trend analysis.

  • Oversees the creation, implementation, and maintenance of departmental dashboards, KPIs, and other metrics utilizing information from IBMi, Safety reports, and other ERP solutions.

  • Initiates and implements process improvement efforts as directed by the USSD Managers/Directors.

  • Assists with resolving billing and IT issues within Commercial Operations and Sales Departments and provide support with yearly capital and operating budgets, working with other functional groups and F&A Department staff.

  • Supports and executes strategies tactically as directed by USSD Management to improve sales and services, customer satisfaction, ease of doing business, and market strength.

  • Supports implementation of the USSD strategic plan assisting department Managers/Directors as required.

  • Supports efforts to identify opportunity and establish new products and or services within all business units of USSD.

  • Conducts market research to evaluate products and services trends and help drive sales and services efforts in an efficient direction.

  • Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary is an essential function of the job.

  • The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.

  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar related field, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 3 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Master’s in Business Administration or other Graduate Degree
