CYBERSECURITY ANALYST- SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION

The Office of Attorney General Tim Griffin is seeking to hire a qualified applicant to serve as a Cybersecurity Analyst in the Special Investigations Division.

The Special Investigations Division (SID) protects the citizens of Arkansas by investigating various crimes including but not limited to: internet crimes against children, human trafficking, cybercrimes, public integrity, election integrity, cold case homicides and missing persons, organized retail crime, and fraud. Special Agents in SID investigate crimes, arrest suspects, and submit files for prosecution. The Cybersecurity Analyst will work along-side Special Agents while serving on an elite law enforcement team for the Attorney General. The Cybersecurity Analyst will serve in the newly created Cybersecurity Squad and report to the Supervisory Special Agent over the Cyber Crimes Unit.

The Cybersecurity Analyst: (1) provides technical support to SID networks, and monitors and protects sensitive data in the SID system; (2) conducts cybersecurity and cybercrimes trainings and presentations to Arkansas citizens, businesses, and governmental entities; (3) assists other government entities with cybersecurity issues; (4) provides Office of the Attorney General (OAG) staff with technical assistance on malware, spyware, and other intrusion investigations; (5) provides OAG staff with technical assistance related to the Personal Information Protection Act, Ark. Code Ann. §4-110-101et seq.; (6) assists in crypto investigations; (7) conducts both open and closed source intelligence investigations; (8) performs missions critical intelligence assignments while collaborating with federal, state, and local law enforcement and intelligence agencies; (9) spearhead the growth and advancement of the Cybersecurity Squad.

All candidates must have knowledge of cybersecurity and threat analysis. Preferably, candidates will have high technical knowledge of network intrusion investigations and best practices. Candidates should have the ability to interpret and apply statutes, administrative rules and other authorities, and also the skills to apply investigation methods, techniques, and procedures to develop evidence and compile information from records and analysis. Successful candidates will have the ability to prioritize, organize, interpret, and present complex information. Candidates are also expected to have computer skills, including but not limited to, use of Microsoft Office Suite, and other programs. Candidates should also have the ability to make informative and engaging presentations to the general public on behalf of the office.

Salary Range- $65,000-$99,000

Position Information

Summary

Join the Special Investigations Division (SID) of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and become a subject-matter expert in a vast array of cybersecurity and cybercrimes. The Cybersecurity Analyst will work in the newly developed Cybersecurity squad within the Cyber Crimes Unit. This position focuses on providing comprehensive cyber analyses to OAG staff as well as citizens and businesses of Arkansas. The SID is an elite unit of professionals within the OAG and carries out mission-critical assignments every day to protect Arkansans.

Functions

• Conduct complex cybersecurity and cybercrime analysis

• Serve as the subject-matter expert on cyber threats and issues

• Develop and conduct cybersecurity trainings and presentations throughout the state

• Support SID by protecting and monitoring sensitive networks and databases

• Collaborate with industry leaders and partners to gain strategic intelligence on cybersecurity threats

• Impart valuable cyber intelligence to SID special agents and other law enforcement agencies throughout the state

• Work with federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies to further the cybersecurity mission for the state of Arkansas
