Simulator Technician I (C130J MATS)
Location: Little Rock, AR
Clearance: Secret
Travel: CONUS/OCONUS
Job Description
Summary/Objective
The Simulator Technician applies basic knowledge and experience to solve routine technical
tasks or system problems; those that typically may be performed solely by reference to
maintenance manuals or similar documents. Work may be reviewed by higher level
Technicians II or III to ensure compliance with accepted practices and/or standard operating
procedure. Work being performed for the first time and any task for which the employee is
not documented as being proficient at will be reviewed by higher level Technicians or the
Maintenance Manager. Receives training in device system and subsystems.
Essential Functions

the essential functions. The essential job functions for this position include:
? Applies working technical/non-technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks
in support of work on various devices, while following detailed instructions which
encompass all procedures.
? Assist students and instructors in the operation of the training devices to include
DMO activities (e.g. set up, power-on/off, daily operational readiness testing,
initialization, and other assistance as required).
? Prepare the system for operation IAW on-site operational and technical manuals and
execute other functions as required by the training system instructor/student.
? Diagnose and resolve problems associated with the initialization or operation during
each training mission.
? Receives technical guidance if required from supervisor and higher-level technicians.
? New or advanced assignments will be given detailed review and be spot checked.
Tasks previously accomplished and documented as proficient do not require review
or spot check, though they may be at the Tech III or Shift Leads discretion.
? Localizes and replaces defective parts in electronic circuits.
? Requires use of block, wiring and schematic diagrams to trace basic circuits.
? Maintains required documentation of maintenance activities.
? Monitors and tracks the repair status of inoperative equipment and document
maintenance activities utilizing the Electronic Data Management System (EDMS).
? Documents maintenance activities to include but not limited to, work order generation
and updates, repair action documentation, issuing, returning, and
adjusting inventory, insuring inventory records are up to date and accurate and other
inventory control duties.
? Conduct inventory inspections, update and record stock levels, and report the status,
excess inventory, and obsolescence issues to the C-130J MATS CLS Mgr.
? Monitor and report failure-prone or obsolete parts to the C-130J MATS CLS Mgr. in-
accordance-with program processes.
? Maintain inventory of incoming parts/supplies and verify receipt of items on
requisition or invoice.
? Receives, stores, and issue equipment, parts, or supplies, and maintains inventory.
? Stores parts/supplies, package & ship items to requesting activities.

? Utilize program EDMS to support inventory levels, off-site repairs, transactions, and
calibration requirements.
? Mark applicable incoming parts (IUID or Tags).
? Conducts voice communications on phone, inter-phone and radio circuits.
? Provides networking/information systems support on training devices and networks.
? Learns device requirements, system design standards, tools and procedures.
? Implements basic modifications to existing simulators.
? Performs other duties as assigned
Competencies
Required skills and abilities to effectively perform this position include, but are not limited to:
? Must be skilled at use and operation of test equipment, including O scopes,
frequency counters, volt/ohm meters and range calibration set.
? Must be able to perform routine preventive maintenance using maintenance
requirement cards and instructional manuals; perform daily system readiness test,
pre-operational and post-operational checkouts.
