M-F, 1 st Shift

Compensation: $30-40/hr

Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Pilot Plant Coordinator for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Lititz, PA. This site is BYOD and candidates will need to have a device running Intel i5 or above processor 8GB RAM or higher WINDOWS 11 Microsoft Windows 365.

SUMMARY

As a member of the Technical Operations team, this position supports a broad range of consumer cosmetics and OTC drug products for the NA Skin Health and Self-Care Franchises. This position provides technical direction and leadership in the development of agile and efficient pilot and full-scale manufacturing processes for new product introductions, product transfers and continuous improvement projects. Responsibilities also include the technical oversight and overall compliance of the R&D Pilot Plant. This role partners and collaborates with Research and Development, Operations, Quality Assurance and Control, Engineering and other functional teams to provide technical support for site projects and base business activities.

RESPONSIBILITITES

  • Partners with R&D to design and develop robust manufacturing processes with agility and flexibility resulting in reduced batch cycle time and costs for new products, product transfers and cost improvement projects.

  • Partners with Engineering, Automation and Quality in the creation of electronic batch recipes, and sustainable paperless quality reports.

  • Supports base business activities including Quality Investigations and CAPAs, Customer Complaints, Annual Drug Product Reviews, Continuous Process Verifications, Batch Record Reviews, Metrics, and Training.

  • Lead the execution of planned experimental design through data and root cause analysis, enhanced sample collection, small scale lab or pilot size batching, global change control and networking with other functional groups and technical staff.

  • Ensure quality and compliance by attending and maintaining training per site requirements, adhering to local and regional procedures, exercising the highest level of integrity, reporting and mitigating deviations, and contributing to doing job right first time.

  • Write technical documentations such as Product Impact Assessment, Technical Justifications and Investigation (INV) reports.

  • Partners with Tech Ops, Engineering and Maintenance supporting other pilot plant responsibilities such as equipment qualification, PMs/CALs, cleaning validation, equipment sanitization, equipment selection and execution of pilot plant batches as well as supervising raw material storage system including inventory management of raw materials and packaging components for the Pilot Plant.

  • Plans, prepares, issues, and controls pilot plant schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet batching requirement.

QUALIFICATION

  • Education:

  • A minimum of a BS in Science or Equivalent

  • Experience and Skills:

  • Required:

  • 2-4 years of related experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Experience within the Pharmaceutical Industry with proficiency in GMPs, data integrity, good documentation practices and safety.

  • Ability to work in multi-functional environment relating to the design and development of automated manufacturing processes.

  • General knowledge of bulk and finished goods product characteristics and their correlation with raw material and equipment performance.

  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, problem solving, application and use of statistical tools and Lean Principles.

  • Preferred:

  • End to end knowledge of equipment and controls for liquids and semi-solids including mixing, filling

  • Outstanding communication skills, written and oral, and adept at presenting complex ideas and concepts

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel and Powerpoint and Minitab for statistical analysis

  • Other:

  • This position may require up to 10% travel depending on business needs.
