Eurofins Site Reliability Engineer in Lisbon, Portugal

In a nutshell

As an Observability Engineer with Eurofins Clinical Diagnostics, you will be playing a crucial role in defining and delivering the product roadmap for our Clinical LIMS Europe Program that will extensively be used as the central Laboratory Information Management System throughout Europe. 

You will contributing to customer experience by monitoring and working on actionable metric points; and overall Program performance. You will own and manage the tools used throughout the Program to provide insights into the applications, and overall operations organization; as you review the requirements supplied by the Teams for completeness, correctness and clarity (reviews). 

Where will you be based and what business will you support?

You will be joining an Upcoming team in Lisbon, Portugal to contribute to our Clinical LIMS Europe Program.

With hundreds of thousands of clinical diagnostic tests performed every day, the laboratories of the Eurofins clinical diagnostic services business line strive to ensure that every patient, wherever he or she lives, has access to the most specialized and most innovative techniques for diagnosis, monitoring and therapeutic decisions. Such activities require extensive planning and organisation which can be augmented by the use of technology.

How can you help us? 

You will:

  • Take an active role in influencing and creating the Observability roadmap, while working alongside other team members to design and engineer observability and reliability solutions (Distributed Tracing, Log Monitoring, Application Metrics); 

  • Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems and processes for the Observability Platform, owning the reliability, performance, and availability; 

  • Learn new skills by gaining a deeper understanding of observability and by providing top tier solutions to issues faced; 

  • Develop a catalog of Observability and monitoring for application and infrastructure including tools, analytics, Dashboards, Visualization for Engineering; 

  • Work with the Engineering teams to plan and coordinate new Observability requirements to implement in future expansions of the platform toolsets. 

Are you our kind of extraordinary?

You have:

  • A Computer Science degree; or related IT field experience; 

  • 3 years of SRE and Observability experience:

  • Working knowledge of versioning (git)

  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines; 

  • Experience working in an Infrastructure as a Code (IaC) environment; 

  • Experience with observability tools like Grafana, AppDynamics, SolarWinds, Datadog etc.

You are: 

  • A- team player; 

  • A self-starter with experience working in a fast-paced, greenfield environment; 

  • Well versed with written and verbal advanced communication skills in Portuguese and English.
