A Day in the Life

Medtronic’s Patient Monitoring team strives to empower clinicians with actionable insights and innovative solutions to prevent and treat life-threatening conditions. We focus on critical care areas (Operating Rooms and Intensive Care Units) to continuously help our Customers and their Patients by improving clinical outcomes and reducing costs for hospitals related to Blood Oxygen Management and perioperative complications. Our solutions will enable clinicians to predict, prevent and treat patients’ complications to further reduce costs and improve outcomes. In this exciting role as a Therapy Sales Specialist, you will play a key role in giving technical and Operating Room support to customers in order to increase Medtronic Market Share through technical support and training to health professionals on our devices and therapies. You will also be in charge of the inventory, control and sanity check of the pool of equipment in order to ensure fast and proper coverage of our installation base. The working territory is Portugal & Galicia, and you will be preferably located in Lisboa or Porto (near an airport and a train station).

Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned:

• Promote and sell Perioperative Complications (BIS/INVOS/NOL) in close collaboration with the sales team members and establish education on respiratory compromises products.

• Develop, build, and strengthen long-term relationships with relevant (clinical) stakeholders, staying in close collaboration with Account Managers.

• Be responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs, and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic’s products and/or services.

• Support clinical activities on request and provide technical support to customers according to territory guidelines.

• Identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term business strategies relating to the expansion of Medtronic therapies at the account or territory level. Identify, prepare, and execute upcoming tenders.

• Identify and support the implementation of patient pathway optimization programs.

• Ensure clear understanding and documentation of clinical and economic benefits of increased therapy adoption. Maintain and acquire constantly new products, technology, market, health care environment, sales tool, and process knowledge.

Must Haves

• Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering or Bioengineering, or another relevant degree

• Experience in similar positions in the medical device industry preferred in Patient Monitoring

• Computer literacy

• Fluency in English & Spanish (reading, conversation, and writing)

• Excellent communication skills, skilled relationship builder, team-player

• Results-oriented, eager to close projects from start to finish

• Self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision

• Willingness to travel 60% of the time

Nice to Haves

• Previous experience working in a regulated industry in Healthcare, Medical Devices, or Pharmaceuticals

• Developing and influencing stakeholders

• Clinical education/Health Care Professional background

• Medical or therapy knowledge

• Sufficient knowledge of critical patients and processes in the operating room
