Reports To:Senior Pastor

Job Summary:The Church Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the church staff, consistory, and congregation, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This role involves managing office tasks, coordinating events, and maintaining records, all while upholding the churchs mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support:Handle phone calls, emails, and correspondence. Manage the church calendar and schedule appointments.
  • Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of church membership, attendance, and contributions. Prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Communication:Prepare and distribute weekly bulletins, newsletters, and other communications. Update the church website and social media platforms.
  • Event Coordination:Assist in planning and organizing church events, meetings, and activities. Coordinate volunteers and resources.
  • Financial Duties:Assist with bookkeeping tasks, including processing donations, distributingfinancial reports, and filing documents.
  • Office Management:Order and maintain office supplies. Ensure the office environment is organized and welcoming.
  • Support to Pastor and Staff:Provide administrative support to the pastor and other church staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous administrative or secretarial experience, preferably in a church or non-profit setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Friendly and welcoming demeanor, with a commitment to the churchs mission and values.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment within the church premises.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for special events.
