We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer II to come and join our growing team! This position will be based out of Linthicum Heights, MD.

ABOUT THE JOB:

FD Thomas is seeking an experienced Project Engineer II, specifically focused on our industrial painting division, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about achieving goals. This person is responsible for overseeing the hands-on aspects and the tangible outcome of a project, related to the industrial painting and coating industry.

You will be joining an established and diverse team, where you will be able to make an immediate impact. Your desire to work alongside some of the best in the industry, paired with your attention to detail, will allow you to achieve maximum success.

Responsibilities include:

During project start-up phase and closeout phase, proactively assist the Project Manager to achieve:

· Contract & New Job set up as requested

· Complete accurate and timely submittal logs for construction projects based on project drawings and specifications

· Manage submittals from Architect or Engineer and notifying the Project Manager /Superintendent of potential schedule impacts or resubmittals

· Prepare as directed all necessary back up relating to change requests, include tracking specification and plan changes

· Set up of schedule of values, productivity, costs, quality control documentation management and processing of applications for payment

· Timely completion of all required project close-out documents per contract

· Distribute contract documents to FDT field teams, subcontractors, including drawings, specifications, and general conditions Include any accepted alternates or addendums with documents

· Scheduling all required construction meetings with required personnel, subcontractors, architects and owners

· Take accurate and complete meeting minutes and distribute timely

· Attend Owner/Architect pre-construction, project and closeout meetings

During Construction Phase, continue the process as started above, and proactively assist the Project Manager and achieve:

· Safety & Quality Document Control

· Time Tracking and Payroll uploads

· Utilize management tools for schedule and document management to track and record project performance and budget tracking

· Schedule of Values,

o Timely Billings according to percentage complete timely upon receipt from Owner

o Payables-payment from owner and payment to Subcontractor and Suppliers per purchase agreements

· Assist PM with project schedule and updates

· Assist PM with purchasing and inventory with suppliers

· Picking up Supplies and making deliveries

· Maintain memos and correspondence logs

· Assist PM as directed.

o RFI's- requests for information

o Transmittals

o Submittals

In addition to your passion and purpose, to be successful in this Project Engineer role, you will possess the following:

· Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering (preferred)

· 2+ years in the construction industry (Combination of education and work experience acceptable)

· Good computer skills with MS Office products such as: Excel and Word

· Proficient with Viewpoint and MS Project software (huge plus!)

· Ability to learn new software quickly and accurately.

· Excellent math and reading skills.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

· Highly organized, efficient time management, excellent attention to detail.

· Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, priority setting, and decision-making abilities.

· Ability to follow company policy, procedures, and adhere to company values and culture.
