The Plant Maintenance Engineer (PME) Lead performs skilled mechanical work, preventative maintenance and repairs, and heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment repairs. The PME Lead is MCF-Lino Lakes' designated Chief Engineer with at least a Class C operating license registered with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide lead work direction and guidance to employees who maintain and repair facility boilers, heating plant equipment and mechanical systems, including hot water distribution systems, HVAC systems, laundry and kitchen utility systems, water treatment systems, security repairs, building components, and energy management systems.
Monitor the status of work assigned to staff and ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
Operate and service Energy Management Systems (EMS).
Ensure efficient administrative procedures to keep physical plant operating in a continuous, non-problematic manner.
Ensure all preventive maintenance work orders are complete and recorded.
Monitor tool control recording process and ensure that tools are properly stored and accounted for each day.
This position has direct contact with incarcerated individuals.
Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position:
Must possess current licensure in the State of Minnesota as a Boiler Chief Engineer Grade C
Leadership skills sufficient to provide leadwork direction that includes prioritizing and assigning job duties, directing, guiding and reporting on work activities of other staff.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:
Experience in providing lead work direction to other employees, preferably experience in leading licensed and unlicensed trades employees.
Knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC and energy management system maintenance and repair, steam and hot water heating and associated apparatus including refrigeration systems.
Knowledge of underground storage tank monitoring requirements.
Physical Requirements
The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required prior to hire for this position. These components consist of a physical examination, a drug test, tuberculosis screening, and/or respirator clearance.
