Job Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years relevant experience in a technology field, with experience modernizing legacy application stacks with SRE principles

  • Education: BS or MS degree in Computer Science or similar, or equivalent work experience.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Cloud Orchestration frameworks, development and SRE support of systems

  • Developing/operating large scale distributed services / applications

  • Infrastructure automation through Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Packer or similar

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines including VCS (git, svn, etc), Gitlab Runners, Jenkins, Rundeck

  • Working with or supporting production, test, and development environments

  • Experience in developing scripts to automate software deployments and installations using PowerShell or Bash

  • Knowledge of cloud compute technologies, network monitoring, data processing and analytics

  • Experience with a modern programming language such as Java, Python, or C++ or equivalent

  • Experience working with fault tolerant, highly available, high throughput, distributed, scalable systems

  • Experience with Windows architectures (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Windows Systems)

  • Windows System Engineering work experience

  • Understanding of SCCM (Building, Design, Management)

  • Unix/Linux experience

  • Basics of Zabbix, Remedy, and SCOM knowledge

  • Knowledge of Security implementation and Security Guidelines (STIG)

  • Knowledge of deploying Config as Code via GitHub, CHEF, and related technologies

  • Collaboration: Proven track record to collaborate closely across teams and services, driving technology migrations and incident management procedures

  • Leadership: Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities, recognized as a subject matter expert by other teams.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • System Operations: Perform daily system operations tasks to verify system integrity and availability.

  • Technology Upgrades: Perform technology upgrades related to Citrix, Windows, Linux, WebSphere, AX, Kofax, and related technologies.

  • Monitoring and Response: Implement monitoring for applications and servers, respond to alarms in a timely manner, preventing client impact and performance degradation.

  • Client Support: Support Client/Customer technologies related to Millennium Software.

  • Customer Service: Respond to Customer Service Requests.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers and other technical teams.

  • System Building: Build entire systems and services, improving shared code, engineering practices, DevOps practices, development processes, ownership, and mentoring.

  • Code Quality: Write accurate, secure, maintainable, robust code and appropriate tests for automation & solution reliability & scalability

  • Feature Design: Drive the design of features and subsystems, ensuring operational readiness and excellence.

  • Operational Maturity: Develop and improve operational maturity and drive down operational pain sources.

  • Cross-Organizational Programs: Lead and participate in cross-organizational programs including Problem Management Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) reviews, Architecture Reviews, and Region Build activities.

A BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent. Identifies and implements complex solutions to knowledge of server hardware and software configuration, networking, standard internet services, scripting languages, cloud computing patterns, technology security and compliance. Experience running large scale customer facing web services. Identifies and implements complex solutions to understanding of load balancing technologies and experience with development in programming languages, databases and big data stores, and container technologies. Work involves defining and documenting technical architecture of complex and highly scalable products. A minimum of 8+ years experience of running large scale customer facing web services.
