Description

We are on the hunt for a meticulous Senior Accountant, with a focus on non-profit organizations. In this role, you will be crucial in supporting the accounting functions to meet the administrative needs of our clients organization, which includes preparing invoices, monitoring accounts receivable, assisting in year-end audits and more. This is a permanent full time employment opportunity in Lincoln, NE.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly budget reports for Program Lead

• Prepare invoices for private grants and state grants receivable

• Monitor accounts receivable, including private grants receivable, and outstanding reimbursements from public agencies

• Record payments from donors, major funders, and state and federal governments

• Assist with the reconciliation of the accounting software records to the donor database

• Assist with routine requests for supporting documentation from all funders, private and public

• Initiate weekly accounts payable check run

• Record manual checks and bank drafts in accounting software

• Assist with preparation for the year-end audits and ad hoc monitoring reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a Senior Accountant role within a non-profit organization

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Strong knowledge of General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Must have experience with Month End Close procedures

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP

• Prior experience in Fund Accounting and Grant Accounting within a non-profit context

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Knowledge of non-profit tax laws and regulations is a plus
