In this position...
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager to join our growing e-commerce team. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. You will be responsible for understanding the market, the competitive landscape, and customer needs. You will be a champion for the customer and will use data to inform your decisions. You should have a strong understanding of e-commerce best practices and be able to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Although this is a fully remote position, we prefer a candidate available to work hybrid in our Dearborn, MI office.
Onsite work of up to three days per week may be required for candidates within commuting distance of a Ford hub location.
What you'll do…
S trategy & Planning (50%):
Deeply empathize with and understand the end user to determine the fastest path to deliver value.
Translate business goals and end user needs into a product strategy that balances those needs; communicate direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings.
Manage and groom the product backlog; make future decisions based on the value that will be delivered.
Create and maintain comprehensive product roadmaps, prioritizing features and initiatives based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
Challenge the status quo of the industry to bring new and innovative ideas to market and challenge the notion of “it can’t be done.”
Understand the intricate behaviors of customers on their platform and how it relates to the success of other products; build stories using data with empirical evidence for product decisions.
Build a strategy that scalably addresses common functionality for disparate product types and user journeys.
Delivery & Execution (30%):
Translate front-end experiences into platform requirements.
Formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing.
Document, review, and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met.
Create, prioritize, and accept user stories; incorporate them into release planning.
Identify and consider pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements then action in a way that drives value.
Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos, and retrospectives.
Condense complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders.
People (20%):
Foster collaboration with team members (Engineering, UX, etc.) to drive value and identify and resolve impediments.
Act as a proponent of modern software development practices through individual action and by contributing to learning activities that develop a community of practice.
Advocate for the end user and stakeholder by becoming associated with the product, empathizing with and understanding user needs.
Work with the product team to continuously assess progress, disseminate lessons learned, and understand next steps.
Manage cross-functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy and provide education to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and/or user experience.
You'll have...
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years of experience working as a Product Manager in an agile software development-based enterprise environment creating, prioritizing, and accepting user stories, conducting user research and testing to understand needs, identifying goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value and similar responsibilities.
3+ experience mining and synthesizing web analytics data (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Contentsquare, and similar).
3+ years of experience working in Retail eCommerce

Master’s Degree
Experience with modern software development product management practices and agile methodologies, specifically the extreme programming (XP) principles of paired programming, test-driven development, and continuous deployment.
Experience leading the development of back-end systems at scale.
Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, fluid environment where priorities shift on a regular basis.
Proficiency in communicating with and influencing functional and technical team members at all levels in the organization.
Proficiency in working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern software design and development team.
Experience with A/B testing and other experimentation methodologies.
