Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position involves analyzing equipment problems, installing and maintaining machinery, and performing various electrical, mechanical, and electronic repairs.
Responsibilities
Analyze equipment problems resulting from mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic malfunctions.
Install, maintain, dismantle, repair, overhaul, and rebuild electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment.
Perform welding fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical repairs or wiring associated with other work to construct, install, and maintain structures, fixtures, and equipment.
Perform traditional electrical power/wire hookups up to 480 volts 3 phase, including bending conduit and troubleshooting.
Correctly size electrical wire per NEC code for applications.
Check, adjust, fit, and modify parts for repair and replacement.
Read and edit PLC programming.
Examine items such as indicator lights, hand and foot controls, sensing devices, and emergency stop switches.
Use a wide variety of hand tools, equipment, and instruments to perform maintenance according to specifications of wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, blueprints, manuals, schematics, and other instructions.
Perform electronic installation and troubleshooting.
Manage automated equipment operations, setup, and maintenance.
Fabricate parts with precision to meet specifications.
Ensure safety devices are in place and in proper operation; inspect and report needed repairs to supervisors.
Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Maintain regular attendance in accordance with the current Attendance Policy.
Direct and assist trainees and other personnel.
Record information on electronic or paper forms for record-keeping purposes.
Sketch wiring schematics.
Navigate through the electronic work order system to create, view, or close work orders electronically.
Handle plant waste, both hazardous and non-hazardous, ensuring compliance with local, NDEC, and EPA regulations.
Essential Skills
Basic microcomputer skills necessary to understand the operation and interfacing characteristics of microprocessors.
Experience in PLC operations including system configurations, hardware, data manipulation, communications, programming commands, interfacing, troubleshooting, application, and program development.
Training or experience in electric motor drive technologies including AC variable frequency, AC servo, DC servo, closed loop systems, stepper systems, servo-motors, electronic and mechanical clutch/brake, and encoders.
Knowledge of welding safety, welding equipment, proper selection of type, wire, settings, and material preparation, including flame cutting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
2-year degree in electromechanical, electronic technology, or equivalent education and a minimum of two years of electromechanical work experience, OR five plus years of experience in a related field.
Must pass the aptitude assessment.
Familiarity with standard recognized troubleshooting practices.
Ability to reference National Electrical Codes.
Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, wiring diagrams, or schematics.
