The Position:We are looking for a candidate who will be performing the role of a Computer Systems Architect - Senior, supporting PMA-271, the Airborne Strategic Command, Control and Communications Program Office.

The Location:Patuxent River, MD

The Work Environment:On-Site.

The Description:

  • This position requires managing and configuring servers of different operating systems (Windows and Linux), including installing, fixing issues, and upgrading while implementing enhancements to them to improve performance and reliability.
  • The incumbent needs to have the ability to design, implement, and manage enterprise system technologies in a development and production environments is highly desired.
  • In addition to providing support for implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems, the position requires the ability to oversee and resolve problems of the server, network devices, storage, and client devices, support IT systems of all end users on a daily basis by working deficiencies, and troubleshooting.
  • Able to support and have a working knowledge of Active Directory, Terminal Servers, Hyper V, VMware ESXi, Internet Information Server, Splunk, and SAN storage.
  • The incumbent should have familiarity with Cloud Solutions, virtualization software, such as Cisco Modeling Lab (CML), VMware and Hyper-V, scripting with PowerShell and Ansible, and Citrix XenDesktop and VDI Solutions
  • Possess a thorough understanding of patching tools and security vulnerability scanning. The incumbent should be able to interpret information in generated reports and come up with strategies to remove unearthed vulnerabilities. Other duties include create project plans for all system deployment and modifications and document them.
  • The incumbent must be able to research and learn about new hardware and software technologies to understand and implement them. In addition, they will be able to facilitate training and provide guidance to their team members.

Education and Experience:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, required.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degreein related discipline.
    • ALLOWED SUBSITUTIONS:Technical certifications can be substituted for degree.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience.
    • Working knowledge and/or familiarity with the following servers and tools:
      • Active Directory, Terminal Servers, Hyper V, VMware ESXi, Internet Information Server, Splunk, and SAN storage.
      • Cloud Solutions, virtualization software, such as Cisco Modeling Lab (CML), VMware and Hyper-V, scripting with PowerShell and Ansible, and Citrix XenDesktop and VDI Solutions.

Travel:

  • On some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
