We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to be an impactful leader to our growing team in Lexington, KY. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading geotechnical projects, providing technical expertise, and contributing to the overall success of our firm.
Your Day-to-Day:
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Technical Expertise: Provide specialized knowledge in geotechnical analysis, design, and project implementation. Write reports, prepare proposals, and actively participate in marketing and business development pursuits.
- Project Management: Act as the primary client liaison, ensuring strong relationships and successful, profitable project execution.
- Collaboration: Work closely with both internal and external teams to improve project outcomes and increase overall departmental efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and lead the geotechnical team, overseeing key activities such as analysis, design, reporting, and on-site construction inspections.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives that enhance project efficiency and align with best practices for continuous improvement.
- Client Relations: Ensure alignment of project objectives with client expectations, fostering strong, ongoing relationships across the company.
- Engineering Expertise: Apply robust geotechnical engineering principles to perform analyses for shallow foundations, deep foundations, slope stability, and settlement. Offer recommendations for ground improvement where necessary.
What You Bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, Mining, or Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering
- 5+ years in a Project Manager role is a plus
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license
- You are able to demonstrate business development skills
- You are able to assist in the field and conduct project site visits as needed
