Job Summary
UK’s NeuroBank, housed within the Neuroscience Research Priority Area, is seeking a Research Program Manager.

The NeuroBank collects a variety of biospecimens from subjects being evaluated and treated for neurologic conditions at the UK’s Albert B. Chandler Hospital and the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute, partnering with multiple clinical groups to procure and store samples for both internal and external research. Since starting in early 2020, NeuroBank has collected over 1,300 samples (over 22,500 aliquots) from more than 1000 participants. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to …
  • daily biobank activities
  • supervising and coordinating staff
  • developing and modifying workflows and SOPS
  • maintaining and overseeing the lab space
  • ensuring biospecimens are collected, processed, and stored according to best practices
  • establishing collaborations and partnerships throughout UK to facilitate specimen identification and collection
  • ensuring the NeuroBank’s compliance with IRB and regulatory protocols, including assisting with related modifications, and implementing quality improvement measures as needed

This position will also work with neuroscience researchers utilizing the NeuroBank; providing support for all elements of research that involve the NeuroBank.

Preferred Education/Experience
Strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills. Proficient in operating various office machines including computers, printers, and various software (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, MS Word, REDCap, Epic, OnCore, eIRB platform). Robust interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Phlebotomy certification preferred.
