Reports to the Applications Engineering Lead. Has no direct supervisory responsibility. Must effectively interact with field sales, distributors, end customers and internal customers. Works with specific industries and customers to gain product approval with the goal of growing company sales. Works with minimal daily supervision, but keeps team leaders and staff informed of project status.

Essential Functions:

• Assist customers in selecting the best rubber seal material for a given application and the design of their products to maximize service life.

• Assist customers with seal selection based on a customer drawing (using inPHorm and design tools such as spreadsheets, FEA)

• Perform failure analysis using laboratory results, photography equipment, and write report summarizing cause and effect for customer

• Support marketing communications through generating literature ideas based on application success stories

• Interpreting and understand customer drawings, requirements, and specifications and making recommendations of Parker products

• Perform design analysis using Finite Element Analysis or Failure Analysis

• Assist with inquiries from customers via OES Mailbox (e-mail), phones, SPPI/RFQ quotation systems, and Live Chat via the internet

• Support field sales and distributors for Division Sales growth, maintaining Division’s premier customer service reputation.

• Perform training at semi-annual Product Schools and on site at customer locations

• Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, polymer studies a plus
