JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is an essential member of our patient care team who is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. The RN will be responsible for consistently and independently conducting a thorough admission interview and systematic physical assessment. They will assess the need for services of other health care professionals to facilitate the delivery of patient care, develop, implement and revises an appropriate patient care plan and carefully and thoroughly documents patient conditions, care given and responses to care given.

The Adult Psych unit works with adult patients with diagnoses of major depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, adjustment disorder, PTSD, conduct disorder and psychotic disorders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Associates Degree in nursing required

  • Valid State of Maine RN license required

  • BLS Certification required

Experience:

  • One year previous nursing experience preferred, wiling to consider new graduates

Other Skills Required:

  • Flexibility required to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, as well as potentially floating to other units

  • Ability to manage stress appropriately, as there may be brief but extreme periods of physical intervention required to manage out of control behaviors

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required

  • Excellent computer skills required
