Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the Patient Care Team who is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas of the unit: Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Neurosurgical, Urology, and all general Medical / Surgical patients that we treat on the unit.

The Registered Nurse delegates those interventions which may be performed by others, supervises as appropriate, assists in maintaining a safe environment for the rendering of effective nursing care, provides education to patients, families and collaborates with other health professionals in the planning and management of health care.

Scope of Service:

C3 is a 17-bed unit caring for all ages. Telemetry monitoring is available. Most common adult patient populations cared for are medical and post-surgical orthopedics, neurological illness, and general medical surgical patients. Most common pediatric illness include respiratory illness, dehydration, gastroenteritis, failure to thrive.

Job Requirements

Education/License

  • BSN preferred, minimum of Associate Degree

    Experience

  • 0 - 1yr.

  • Must have, at minimum, either an associate degree or Diploma (three-year program) in Nursing.

  • BSN is preferred.

  • Must possess a valid State of Maine RN license.

    Skills

  • CPI competency with 3 months of hire.

  • Cardiac Dysrhythmia competency within 6 months of hire.

  • PEARS within 6 months.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
