About the Internship

As a Consultancy Intern, you will work within the Ireland Optum Advisory (OA) team. Joining our team, you’ll become part of a driven, focused group that prides itself on continuously improving business results. As a trusted subject matter expert tasked with incorporating traditional expertise into innovative, cutting-edge actuarial, analytic and data science solutions, you’ll find your performance recognized and rewarded in an environment that provides clear direction for success.

You will encounter great opportunities to enhance and develop your skills through some or all the following activities:

  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of predictive models, analytical and visualization tools

  • Assisting in the development of actuarial data architecture and assumption setting

  • Conducting and documenting moderately complex analysis and research

  • Preparing, forecasting, and analyzing trends using large volumes of US Healthcare data

  • Providing detailed summaries, reports, and recommendations to assist managerial decision making

  • Maintaining the necessary communication and coordination with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients in multiple locations

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Progressing through or completed an Actuarial, Financial Mathematics or other relevant Quantitative degree program

  • Ability to quickly learn and use computer software tools effectively

  • Exposure to one or more of the following tools: Excel, R, Python, SAS or SQL

  • Good communication skills

  • The ability to work a portion of monthly work hours from our Dublin or Letterkenny office is required

This role is targeted at university students who are seeking a summer internship from Jun-Aug 2025.
