Robert Half VP/Director of Finance in Leominster, Massachusetts

Description

We are seeking a seasoned VP/Director of Finance for our non-profit organization headquartered in Leominster, Massachusetts. This significant role will oversee the financial aspects and resources of our organization and ensure smooth operation of the business office. The Director of Finance will be responsible for budgeting, finance, development and maintenance of accounting and internal control systems, internal and external financial reporting, purchasing and supply management, grants financial reporting, and human resource management.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the executive team and the Finance Committee to develop proposed annual and multi-year budgets that reflect the mission of the school

• Supervise the day-to-day accounting processes of the school, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, cash receipts and disbursements, and payroll

• Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and any applicable standards or regulations required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

• Serve as the Chief Procurement Officer for the school and maintain current purchasing policies and procedures

• Collaborate with the Manager of Grants & Finance Operations and school administration in the financial management of the applications for grant funds

• Develop and maintain relationships with banks and credit unions and manage cash flow requirements to maximize interest earnings and minimize short term borrowing

• Provide financial, human resources, and operational information to school management as requested

• Prepare and deliver financial materials at Board of Trustees meetings and attend monthly Board of Trustees meetings as needed.

Requirements • Demonstrable experience of at least 3 years in a similar role as VP/Director of Finance within the non-profit sector

• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems for accurate financial management

• Extensive knowledge and practical application of Accounting Functions and Auditing

• Experience in managing Budget Processes, Cash Flow Analysis, and Bank Reconciliations

• Proficiency in Budgeting and Board reporting to ensure financial transparency and accountability

• Expertise in Financial Analysis and Forecasting to guide strategic financial decisions

• Ability to handle Month End Close procedures and preparation of Monthly Statements

• Comprehensive understanding and application of US GAAP in all financial operations

• Excellent communication skills for effective team leadership and stakeholder engagement

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required, a Master's degree or CPA is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in reviewing financial data and reports

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
