Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an exceptional and proven Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Lenexa, KS. As an Engineer II, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by improving our production processes and systems. Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day production support and lead improvement efforts.

  • Responsible for supporting maintenance team and leading improvement and troubleshooting efforts when needed.

  • Design and implement manufacturing processes, including process flow, equipment, and tooling layouts.

  • Develop sustainable solutions for equipment repetitive failures.

  • Evaluate and select appropriate equipment, machinery, and tooling.

  • Manage capital projects across different sites in Lenexa, KS.

  • Lead multi-functional teams and balance project risk and uncertainty.

  • Analyze equipment failure rates and implement refurbishment or replacement projects.

  • Develop financial business models to support capital investment decisions.

  • Provide status reports to senior management and ensure project budgets and revenue goals are met.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

  • 4+ years of experience in a complex manufacturing environment.

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively engage with various parties involved.

Environmental Conditions

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance

  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery)

  • Standing for full shift, Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.)
