Are you interested in a challenging position where you can be instrumental in providing for the safety and protection of children of all ages; children and/or youth and adolescents and families experiencing difficulties?  Then this is the position you are looking for.  Carbon County Child Welfare Services is seeking candidates for open County Caseworker positions.  Apply today!   DESCRIPTION OF WORK Caseworkers receive reports of suspected abuse and/or neglect of children within the county.  They then meet with the children, caregivers and talk with anyone who can help determine if the child(ren) are safe.  Caseworkers recommend seeing a doctor if children are injured. The most important thing is to be able to help a child, one who may not have the skills, knowledge or ability to help themselves.

Caseworkers provide an effort to facilitate growth, behavioral and emotional improvements to those individuals and their families, and to maintain current and accurate documentation and records of clients and services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. On-call is mandatory. Caseworkers may be required to work irregular hours depending on child/family availability.

Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
