Description We are seeking a Lead Database Engineer to join our team in Lehi, Utah. In this role, you will use your database engineering and administration skills to guide our team and oversee all database functions and engineering. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of database engineers, providing guidance, training, and detail oriented development opportunities.

• Take a hands-on role within the team to specify, design, implement and deliver technical solutions.

• Oversee all database functions and engineering, including managing associated resources and forecasting capacity needs.

• Collaborate with the team to design and implement scalable and efficient database architectures.

• Monitor and support database systems to ensure optimized performance and automation wherever possible.

• Oversee the development and maintenance of data models, schemas, and structures.

• Guide the administration and maintenance of database systems, including backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.

• Ensure the team follows best practices for routine maintenance tasks and database security.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization to meet the organization's application and data storage needs.

• Utilize knowledge of data engineering tools and frameworks, such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar.

• Apply hands-on experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and data mesh concepts preferably in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and how BI tools are used. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

• Demonstrated proficiency in Database Administration

• Extensive knowledge and experience with NoSQL

• Familiarity with Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon DocumentDB

• Proven Leadership Skills and ability to lead a team

• Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CICD)

• Proficiency in Database Backup and Disaster Recovery procedures

• Understanding of Database Structure and Database Schema

• Experience with SQL Database

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
