Are you detail-oriented and passionate about healthcare information management? We are seeking a HIM Document Scanning Specialist to join our dynamic team at one of our healthcare facilities located in Fairfax, Falls Church, or Leesburg, VA. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of patient health records through efficient document scanning and data entry processes.

salary: $16.38 - $20.06 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, scan, and index medical records and documents into the electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Ensure all documents are accurately categorized and indexed for easy retrieval and reference.

• Perform quality checks to verify the completeness and clarity of scanned documents.

• Collaborate with the HIM team to maintain compliance with privacy and security standards.

• Assist with the ongoing maintenance and organization of physical and electronic health records.

• Troubleshoot scanning equipment and report issues as necessary.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• 1-2 years of experience in health information management or medical records preferred.

• Proficiency with document scanning systems and EHR platforms.

• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology is a plus.
