We are seeking a detail-oriented and proficient HIM Document Scanning Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing documentation into the Electronic Health Record (EHR), ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of medical records. This role requires adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations, effective communication, and demonstrated proficiency in document imaging technology.

salary: $16.5 - $20 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, scan, and index documentation into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

  • Ensure the integrity and quality of medical records using document imaging technology and established quality control procedures.

  • Handle Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA privacy and security regulations, promoting confidentiality and discretion.

  • Meet established scanning and indexing metrics for productivity and quality.

  • Communicate issues to management promptly and assist in resolving problems.

  • Maintain the confidentiality, accuracy, and proper storage of electronic and hard copy data, following legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in Medical Records or Health Information Management.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Attention to detail with critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer applications.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
