This is an exciting opportunity to join us in Outsourcing, as a Business Architect - Payments within the Business Solutions function.

You will be part of a global team of Business Architects responsible for ensuring that we successfully design and maintain payments solutions that align with the business needs as well as the architecture strategy for the product, as well fill in the communication gap between technical and non-technical experts specialising in corporate payments methods.

As a successful candidate you will need to be a Payment Expert and you will be delivering end to end automated payment solution and be part of the payment industry forum. You will liaise with the Banking providers, payment gateways providers, Payroll & treasury department, Business Analysis team, end users and third party service providers as appropriate.

This role requires a passion for technical design, development, problem solving, and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.

You will be joining a large team with diverse skills and experience, the job requires a motivated professional who is experienced in taking responsibility, who can independently deliver results on both a generic product level as well as client specific projects.

The Role

  • Building a comprehensive understanding of Payments applications, systems, and infrastructure across the Outsourcing Line of Business (LOB)

  • Communication with key stakeholders and development teams on technical solutions.

  • Manages the business architectural review stage of proposed new payments initiatives in a timely fashion.

  • To have a good knowledge of business strategy and industry direction and ensure these are applied to the Payments Business architectural principles aligned with WTW’s Vision

  • Continually assessing opportunities to strengthen the business architecture principles

  • Produce logical systems design models where appropriate in conjunction with Senior Systems Analyst/System Architect

  • Promote maintainability, quality, security, modifiability, and extensibility within the business architecture principles

  • Works closely with the Lead Business & Systems Analysts and our payments/payroll teams to ensure that requirements are gathered in line with the generic business architectural principles.

  • Drives and maintains the payments product roadmap ensuring that benefits to the business are at the forefront of considerations.

  • Manages the business architectural review stage of proposed new initiatives in a timely fashion

  • Convincing and presenting proposals by way of high-level solutions to end users and/or stake holders.

  • Able to grasp new concepts quickly, demonstrating understanding of the implications of technical issues on business requirements and / or operations.

  • Pursues continual growth related to the business domain within the respective line of business.

  • Helps team members self-organize and apply cross-functional competencies to create high-value products.

The Requirement

Knowledge and Experience: A strong demonstratable architect capability is required alongside a track record in delivering successful integrated payments projects. The role requires you to provide technical leadership to other technology teams (specifically Systems Analysis and Software Engineering Resources) across multiple locations with a firm grasp and experience of offshore development processes (including knowledge management and transfer) to ensure successful delivery of projects.

  • Strong experience of successfully undertaking a Business Architect role ideally within the pension’s industry.

  • Experience with building relationship and good communications with external stakeholders.

  • Wide experience of working on a large integrated payments projects within financial services and have a good working knowledge of integrated payments systems.

  • Strong organisational abilities and flexibility to work in a performance driven environment managing multiple project priorities.

  • Sense of accountability, owning one’s work and taking pride in it; focus towards quality and continuous improvement.

  • Able to communicate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels in the organization and Governance bodies

  • Able to influence and drive projects to meet key milestones

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Thrives and drives delivery in a busy, demanding and changing environment.

  • Builds strong working relationships and being an integral member of the team.

  • Understanding and experience of IT Quality Management

  • Knowledge of Integrated Risk Management and Business Continuity Planning
