Job Overview

This is a Technical Marketing/Engineering position. The role of the Product Manager is to help develop and grow sales associated with the Transmission Connectors market.

A Day In The Life

  • Collaborate with other Hubbell Business Units to aid in One-Hubbell solutions in the form of Transmission Assemblies involving Hubbell Connectors offered by this business.

  • Collaborate with Hubbell Sales Team, Customer Service & Customers for day-to-day business (Problem solving, applications, competitive cross-references, training, bid packages and similar).

  • Develop pricing strategies for standard product SKUs and project bids to grow revenue and profit to meet the Business Unit goals. Work with the Hubbell Pricing team to implement this strategy by setting and approving market prices associated with major projects (significant one-time sales opportunities).

  • Work with product and application engineering to design transmission assemblies using Hubbell product that is compliant to the customer provided specifications along with the industry standards applicable to the project country location.

  • Collaborate with Technical Marketing and lead Product Engineers to assist with drawing and specifications & exceptions review associated with bid packages for quoted transmission projects.

  • Work with other Technical Marketing Team members to define product needs based on sales and market intelligence to expand the Hubbell product line offering to satisfy industry needs.

  • Support development and maintenance of product marketing collateral (catalog, brochures, cross-reference tools, product launch material, and similar)

  • Work with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sourcing to rationalize and streamline product SKUs.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • BS in Engineering strongly preferred

  • Preference towards to at least 3+ years of industry experience associated with high voltage Transmission products.

  • Other electric utility industry experience will be taken into consideration as a substitute. Ideally, would have Product Engineering experience prior to entering this role.

  • If that experience is very limited or if not in the areas of these products, experience may need to be gained through an initial training period at Hubbell.

  • Customer visits will be required occasionally for collaborating on major projects, promoting new products, training, and various other business activities.

  • Good communication skills both verbally and through writing (presentations, sales/customer training, quote documents, business opportunity plans, emails, etc.).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft® 365 products (most used: Excel, Word & TEAMS); experience with applications or tech such as PowerBI, AutoCAD Vault, Salesforce, Workfront and SAP preferred but not required
