Our company, a leading producer of inks in North America, is seeking a dedicated Plant Engineer to join our team in Lebanon, OH. This role involves managing facility and manufacturing improvement projects, developing plans, and producing project budgets including ROI calculations. The Plant Engineer will support the maintenance department in troubleshooting building and equipment repairs, conduct testing of new equipment, and make modifications to existing processes and equipment. Working closely with operations management, the Plant Engineer will also make modifications to processes and equipment work instructions and train other employees.
Responsibilities
Test and develop new equipment.
Improve and refine existing equipment.
Incorporate design and budgets for projects using Project Management.
Maintain a functional and supportive role with multiple facility Maintenance and Manufacturing groups.
Assist plant maintenance with advanced troubleshooting.
Provide floor support to troubleshoot process problems using continuous improvement and root cause analysis techniques.
Ensure that products and systems comply with applicable codes.
Report routine activities on a monthly basis and keep relevant staff members up-to-date more frequently on rapidly moving projects.
Initiate or supply documentation for capital projects using TPM tools within the EEM pillar and the six-step management methodology.
Support all new equipment and processes with in-house training classes as determined by departmental and company needs.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
AutoCAD experience.
2+ years of experience in process improvement within a chemical or similar environment.
Troubleshooting equipment experience.
Knowledge in TPM or Continuous Improvement.
Six Sigma certification.
Kaizen experience.
Robotics experience.
Automation and PLC programming experience.
Experience working in an environment with hazardous materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication and training skills.
Work Environment
This position is based at our plant in Lebanon, OH, which employs approximately 75 people. The Plant Engineer will be the only engineer on site, with additional support provided by the corporate engineering team. The work environment includes working with hazardous materials and requires adherence to safety protocols. The role offers great benefits and profit sharing opportunities.
