Graduate of a degree-specific, accredited training program.
Board-certified physician (MD, DO) or Advance Practice Provider (APRN, PA)
Holds a Valid license to practice medicine in the state of New Hampshire
Successful completion of credentialing process for medical staff membership and privileges at APDHS
Maintenance of active narcotics and controlled substances numbers and licenses
Advanced education in the areas of clinical quality, process improvement or analytics preferred

Position Objective
*
The Assistant Medical Director (AMD) will be responsible for assisting the Medical Director in clinical leadership of providers and clinical staff to ensure high quality patient care, fiscal viability, and employee and patient satisfaction.

Performance Expectation
The AMD will report to the Medical Director and collaborate directly with the Practice Director, Clinical Manager and Administrative Manager to achieve departmental goals.
Assist as a liaison between the provider group at the MSC2 and hospital administration and other specialties.
Collaborates with medical staff committees and individuals to optimize communication, efficiency and effectiveness of clinic services.
Provide managers with input regarding performance of staff from perspective of providers.
Participate in Quality Improvement efforts in ambulatory care.
Assist in oversight of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities at the request of the Medical Director or Chief Medical Officer.
Assist in training for the professional growth and development of providers and other clinical staff, with special attention to innovative approaches to provider and staff development and patient care.
Assist in assuring adequate oversight of non-physician providers.
Provide input to Practice Director and Medical Director and senior leadership regarding strategic planning for department.
Maintain a minimum of 0.25 FTE in these activities.
Maintain at least 0.5 FTE clinical practice as delineated in provider job description.
Remain in good standing as an Active member of Medical Staff at APDMH.
