Chemours is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor to join our Florida Mining team! This position will report directly to the Mine Manager at our Maxville , FL location.

The Production Shift Supervisor will oversee all production shift activities for mining and mineral processing facilities operating 24-hours per day, 7-days per week by providing safety and operational leadership to achieve mine objectives. The position will manage 6+ shift employees to include mobile equipment, field crew and plant operators responsible for all aspects of active mine production from operating excavators, dozers and loaders to mobile mining units, screeners, wetmill concentrator, water treatment facilities, and associated process equipment. The Production Shift Supervisor works collaboratively with maintenance personnel in maintaining the facility and oversees the activities of other operators as required.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping of the area and meeting production quality and quantity standards on the shift as well as the shift to shift transition.

  • Work in a self-guided manner in the absence of supervision and demonstrate creativity, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative.

  • Report ALL injuries, EHS and process incidents and assist with both safety environmental and process investigations.

  • Develop awareness of the benefit of team work to attain company objectives, lead by example, provide open an honest feedback targeting improved employee performance.

  • Ensure all applicable Standard Operating Procedures are closely followed across all operations, drive opportunities to improve operating procedures.

  • Assist in the orientation of new hires and safety training, participate in employee review process.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to other employees.

  • Improve the skills and effectiveness of team members through challenging assignments and development.

  • Ensure that personnel training requirements are identified and completed.

  • Performance management of the maintenance team.

  • Embrace all company safety, environmental and health rules and all company policies and procedures. Act as a safety leader to identify and promote opportunities to improve mine safety performance.

  • Supervise all personnel and operations of assigned shift and build a Team spirit aligned with Company Core Values driven to exceed performance expectations.

  • Review daily production schedule to plan work and personnel assignments for shift, manage attendance and schedule coverage.

  • Monitor daily mine performance reports, and communicate with impact performance achievements, opportunities and issues.

  • Anticipate and determine root cause of in shift operation gaps and take appropriate action to safely meet production goals.

  • Coordinate with mine planning, engineering, maintenance and other support departments in planning and executing scheduled production, repairs and drive regularly scheduled maintenance.

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment and report any opportunities for improvement.

  • Participate in weekly meetings and report on work order performance and summary of maintenance related downtime.

  • Act as a Safety Leader to ensure individual and team Safety remains top priority in the planning and execution of all tasks.

  • Work closely with Company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) personnel for zero incidents and continuous improvement of mine site EHS performance.

  • Continuous improvement in mining approach, encourage initiatives intended to reduce safety risk, increase production volume, improve efficiency and reduce operating cost.

The following is required for this role:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and ability to read and write the English language.

  • 2+ years team in supervisory experience in an industrial or manufacturing related role.

  • Requires people management skills including the ability to motivate and train.

  • Must have good reasoning and troubleshooting skill and the ability to select and analyze appropriate data to allow good decision making.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently ascends or descends ladders, stairs, elevated walkways, ramps and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.

  • Frequently lifts or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts or moves up to 50 pounds.

  • Position requires working near and around operating mechanical parts and mobile equipment and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations.

  • Ability to read and interpret various plans and designs.

  • Capable of wearing personal protective equipment, such as hearing protectors and respirators, as necessary.

Pay Range (in local currency):

$70,426.00 - $110,040.00

Annual Bonus Target:
