job summary:
Our client is looking to add a Power Distribution Engineer to their team. This opportunity is located in Lawrenceville GA. This person must live 25-30 miles from the job site.
The Power Distribution Engineer will provide technical assistance in designing and constructing the Cooperative's distribution system, offers insights for improving existing facilities, and serves as the primary contact for large consumers with construction, expansion, or adjustment needs. This role involves supervising section personnel, working in a team-oriented environment, and providing leadership and vision consistent with the Cooperative's mission.
Qualifications
2 years of electrical distribution experience involving engineering design and layout for the expansion of electric distribution systems, power requirements and related specifications and codes
Experience with design and layout of electrical distribution systems including both overhead and underground.
Working knowledge of National Electric Code, National Electrical Safety Code, RUS specifications and construction assemblies

responsibilities:
Review the district GIS (Geographical Information System) to ensure protective device coordination, feeder load balancing, and compliance with Cooperative policies and procedures.
Create master designs for large multi-phase commercial and residential developments and ensure that work orders released comply with overall plans.
Serve as engineering contact point for large accounts as assigned with responsibility for system layout, creation of necessary work orders, and coordination of required materials.
Review and approve work orders for large outdoor lighting projects as assigned.
Layout and create work orders for system improvement projects, work plan items, DOT projects, etc., as assigned.
Provide work direction for staking personnel as assigned.
Ensure that district maps - including GIS, OMS, and special one line drawings - are correct and properly update
