Medtronic is seeking for a proactive and action-oriented Procurement professional with natural curiosity and passion for continuous improvement, to join our Global Supply Chain Management team as Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist for our Swiss Manufacturing Organization (SMO). In the role, you will be responsible for supply assurance, risks identification and mitigation, management of suppliers' operational performance, procurement aspects of components life cycle, and contribute to value optimization programs, for direct components entering our Products bill of materials.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Partner with suppliers and cross functional teams to ensure seamless operations, managing escalation process, solving complex real-time supply issues with impact to operations continuity ;

  • Identify mid- and long-term business continuity risks within the supply base, define recommend and align strategies to prevent future supply disruptions, lead risks mitigation projects ;

  • Drive Last Time Buy and Strategic Inventory Purchase activities to secure Products end of life and supply continuity ;

  • Be responsible of supply base operational performance and metrics, manage suppliers’ performance reviews, lead supplier-specific performance improvement plans, negotiate and monitor execution of Service Level Agreements ;

  • Foster a culture of continuous Improvement and Lean, driving progress in the supply base pertaining to Service, Quality, Cost and Cash ;

  • Lead local execution of cost and cash optimization programs. Contribute to Products improvement, collaborating with various stakeholders such as Supplier Quality, Engineering, Global Category Management, VAVE and Suppliers Optimization teams to identify and execute value opportunities.

  • Identify metrics, tools, and opportunities to optimize internal processes, supplier activities, efficiencies, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to prioritize and drive implementation.

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Master's degree or Swiss Federal Diploma of Higher Education, in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering or Business Administration ;

  • 5-10 years of business experience in Procurement and Sourcing activities ;

  • Fluency in French and English – oral and written ;

  • Successful experience in driving supplier performance, issues resolution, and commercial negotiations, in a context of mono-sourced or inter-dependent supply base

  • Organizational skills and attention to details while handling multiple ongoing projects ;

  • Curiosity, initiative and autonomy, adopting a hands-on practical approach to solve short terms issues while seeking and implementing ways to optimize processes and performance on mid term.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and influencing / negotiation skills in a matrixed business environment.
