Position Summary

We are looking for a Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Senior Specialist, to ensure functional leadership internally and externally in regulatory topics. You will drive regulatory opportunities and early compliance for cross business innovation during discovery phase for Nestlé Research globally. You will also be responsible for regulatory assessments.

A Day in the Life of a Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Senior Specialist

  • Define the regulatory strategy and roadmap for assigned projects.

  • Support the team in creating the product on pack communication and technical labelling elements (nutrition table, ingredient list …) in a way to limit the efforts for the market regulatory team for the final compliance validation.

  • Build relationships with Institute and Department Heads, collaborating internally with Food Safety, IP, QSHE, NHW, Legal, and project Managers.

  • Collaborate with Business RSA, Nestlé Product and Technology Center RSA, Market RSA, and/or CT-RSA to ensure business relevance, knowledge transfer, alignment, and advocacy for NR projects.

  • Stay informed about and communicate relevant regulatory trends impacting Innovation and Renovation.

  • Take ownership of regulatory processes, training, and enabling others.

  • Build external relationships with strategic partners to propose ways to speed up the way to achieving compliance by design.

What will make you successful

  • Master’s degree in food science/ technology combined with food law.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs within the Food Industry or Trade association.

  • Experience in conducting regulatory assessments of new ingredients, additives, and their labeling, as well as authority submissions.

  • Demonstrated success in leading regulatory activities in strategic innovation projects within an R&D environment.

  • Experience in ingredient development and registration.

  • Proficiency in validating health claims according to internal requirements (internal panel submission) and market regulatory requirements.

  • Experience in risk management and the ability to escalate issues to senior management.

  • Proven track record in building and implementing regulatory strategies, particularly in health science or food science.

  • Ability to lead regulatory activities in strategic projects and influence stakeholders to ensure understanding and compliance with regulatory affairs.

  • Fluent in English.
