DESCRIPTION:

A General Superintendent’s primary responsibility is the main contact in the field, work in concert with the Project Manager to schedule, plan and direct all field operations to include management of all work by the company’s own forces and that of the subcontractors. Has full responsibility for initiating and implementing all pertinent safety and quality control policies and procedures. Supervise complex large volume projects. Additional responsibilities include: review of subcontractor scopes, participation in buyout, adherence to budget and to ensure the construction process and building are completed to the client’s full satisfaction and at the company’s levels of profitability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Possess a working knowledge & understanding of logistics and scheduling

  • Participates in the formulation of sub-scopes & Exhibit A’s & subcontractor de-scopes

  • Responsible for reporting cost codes and daily labor units

  • Responsible for the daily reports & reporting of any job specific impacts that may occur regarding time delay, scheduling conflicts & or cost implications to the General Superintendent

  • Manages & monitors construction activity to maintain compliance with contract specs and company quality & safety standards

  • Supervises and monitors the performance of area superintendents

  • Prepares labor production budget & establishes & maintains labor control in coordination with superintendents & reviews cost reports with General Superintendent

  • Settle any union jurisdictional disputes that may arise. Works cooperatively & proactively to maintain labor union relations

  • Monitors schedule

  • Assigns work to field personnel

  • Reports labor time & signs timesheets

  • Prepares & reviews & initials Daily Construction Reports

  • Schedules safety meetings and administers jobsite mobilization

  • Participates in preconstruction meetings

  • Reviews & verified weekly quantities

  • Coordinates special inspections as required

  • Ensures subcontractors follow Safety Procedures

  • Demonstrates full & current knowledge of all OSHA Safety requirements & maintains compliance with these requirements on the job site at all times

  • Communicates job status to Project Manager and other management team members on a regular basis

  • Represents Company at all times with professionalism & a commitment to quality

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.A combination of education and work experience will be considered

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Commercial Construction

  • Excellent knowledge of construction, craft activities, cost control schedules & safety

  • Proven job site knowledge & performance

  • Ability to work independently while working in a strong team environment

  • Ability to prioritize work to accommodate deadlines with minimum supervision

  • Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

  • Demonstrates consistent ability to be dependable, consistent, diligent, and thorough

  • Proficiency and working experience in Microsoft Office Platform

  • Basic knowledge of Procrore software desired

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
