Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse as a Staff Nurse in Discharge Observation Unit (DOU) performs the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for patients. If that is you, come be a part of what makes us great and apply today!

  • Meets Standards of Care and Standards of Practice

  • Reviews patient assessment data including psychological, physical, environmental, self-care, educational and discharge planning needs

  • Reviews assessment/evaluation of patient/care partner(s) other ability to manage continuing health needs after discharge

  • Teaches patient/significant other as appropriate and specific to patient health care needs throughout patient’s stay

  • Promotes collaboration with physicians and personnel of other departments

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served

  • Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over life span and possesses ability to assess data reflective of patient status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify patient requirements relative to his/her age specific needs

  • Provides care needed as described in department policies and procedures

  • Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate from a school of nursing

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nevada

  • Current BLS

  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certificate required or within 90 days of hire/transfer. Once obtained must be maintained Experience

  • One (1) year recent experience within last two (2) years in a Emergency Services - Required
