Description

We are in search of a Cost Accountant based in Las Vegas, Nevada. The role involves a thorough understanding of cost accounting methods, cost control measures, and operational efficiency improvements in the workplace. The role also involves offering financial insights and contributing to strategic decision-making processes to optimize resource allocation and reduce expenses.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret financial data to determine the cost structure of products, services, or projects.

• Implement cost control measures and recommend cost-saving strategies.

• Assist in the creation and management of budgets, aligning financial objectives with organizational goals.

• Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs against budgeted costs and identify discrepancies.

• Calculate and maintain accurate product costs, including material, labor, and overhead costs.

• Monitor inventory levels, assess carrying costs, and support inventory valuation processes.

• Prepare cost reports, financial statements, and cost forecasts for management, identifying trends, issues, and opportunities.

• Implement and maintain an Activity-Based Costing (ABC) system to allocate costs more accurately to products or services based on their consumption of resources.

• Develop and maintain costing models to assist in pricing decisions and profitability analysis.

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, and provide recommendations for operational enhancements.

• Collaborate with various departments, including production, procurement, and finance, to gather cost-related data and provide financial support.

• Support in estimating costs for new products, projects, or contracts.

Requirements

• Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting.

• Applicants should be proficient in Cost Analysis and Manufacturing Cost Accounting.

• Experience with Cost Control is essential for this role.

• The ability to enhance Operational Efficiency is required.

• Candidates should be skilled in Budgeting and Variance Analysis.

• Knowledge of Product Costing is a must.

• Applicants should be Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).

• Experience in fostering a Continuous Improvement Culture is desirable.
