State of Nevada BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYST 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Position Business Process Analysts apply an in-depth knowledge of the agency's program areas to define and implement a solution to a given problem that requires an individually tailored response for end-user requirements. Under general direction, incumbents train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinate staff and may serve as project leaders with responsibility for defining and managing the project scope and objectives. Non-supervisory positions allocated at this level receive minimal or no technical supervision within their department. The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Process Analyst III to join our Project Management Office Portfolio Management Team. As a Business Process Analyst III, you will play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and improving business processes within the organization. You will be responsible for driving the implementation of best practices in portfolio project management, ensuring successful project outcomes, and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our agency. Responsibilities: Lead and facilitate the analysis and documentation of existing business processes, identifying areas for improvement and streamlining workflow. Develop and implement portfolio project management best practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, business stakeholders, and technical staff, to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables. Conduct thorough research and analysis to support decision-making processes, assess project risks and impacts, and provide recommendations for process improvements. Evaluate project proposals, business cases, and feasibility studies, and provide expert insights and guidance on project prioritization. Monitor and track project progress, identifying and addressing any issues or bottlenecks, and proactively communicating updates to stakeholders and senior management. Project manage technical DWSS projects as directed. Experience in developing Advanced Planning Documentation (APD) for federal funding efforts. Contract management experience and project fiscal operational tracking and auditing. Monitor and support the portfolio team member in executing action related to process improvement and application of industry-standard project management methodologies. Demonstrate a proactive approach in prioritizing projects, resources and portfolio needs as learned from held industry recognized certifications. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, management information systems, or other disciplines related to the assignment and three years of progressively responsible professional experience in a related program area analyzing and interpreting program laws, regulations, policies and procedures, which included two years of experience applying recognized data processing concepts to business process planning and analyses; OR one year of experience as a Business Process Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting. A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. Additional Position Criteria
