What you will do

The Director, Site Make Excellence & Digital is a senior leader of the site responsible for the development and execution of the organization’s strategies, goals, and objectives. Directly responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of the site project portfolio, process excellence program and digital transformation ensuring consistency with business strategy, commitments, and company goals. This includes defining, identifying, and securing internal and external resources and coordinating efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultant to deliver according to plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • A key component of our strategy is driving the overall Digital Transformation by deploying end-to-end digital solutions that solve unmet needs and generate value through a fully integrated digital ecosystem.

  • Directly responsible for partnering with the Consumer Health Supply Chain and appropriate councils, to identify key emerging digital initiatives, prioritize digital innovation pipeline of opportunities and drive overall achievement of digital capabilities and roadmap.

  • Under site’s Project Management Office (PMO), is responsible to optimize the entire portfolio to improve costs and resources and maximize benefits while maturing digital capabilities.

  • Maintains high quality and safety and compliance standards, while planning and executing the project portfolio. Drives associated governance processes to enable continuous improvement, product insourcing, and new product introductions (NPIs).

  • Facilitates the Process Excellence Program to enable growth, improve systems, waste elimination, and employee engagement by applying Process Excellence tools within the KPS framework.

  • Acts as an internal consultant, influencing decision making and proactively developing solutions to uncover business opportunities and actionable insights driving End-to-End (E2E) business KPIs. Supports daily business operations and functions as the site Subject Matter Expert for digital, problem solving, and innovation.

  • Under administrative direction, is responsible for supporting organizational design and implementation of the processes. Manages the implementation of major organizational effectiveness initiatives to increase leadership and organizational capacity.

  • Routinely called upon to lead crisis management situations and to function as the Site Leader in his/her absence.

  • Represents the Las Piedras Site and champions the Supply Chain Excellence Program. Facilitates LPLT Team meetings. Ensures adherence to LPLT standard work. Facilitates Operational Reviews and Network Strategy meetings. Maintains site capacity models.

  • Represents and positions the Las Piedras Site with the PR Manufacturing Association as well as with Government affairs.

  • Supports the implementation of strategic plans and engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities to achieve business goals. Liaises with government entities (federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in sciences or engineering. Master's degree or other advanced degree will be preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility in an OTC or Pharma regulated environment industry is required. Experience and working knowledge of Project Management tools (i.e. FPx). Must have proven leadership with significant experience in demonstrating effective influence of senior management. Proven record of leading teams in delivering results. Strong knowledge in Organizational Development. Business and Financial Acumen. Proven record in leading organizational design and development. Director QA, MST, Operations level is preferred.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

o Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

o Knowledgeable in statistics, GMP and pharmaceutical industry applicable regulations.

o Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Scheduling).

o Advanced research capabilities, problem solving, excellent organizational abilities, and project management. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

o Strong data visualization and analytical skills including statistical tool knowledge.

o Strong financial acumen at both plant/business level and department budgetary level

o Strong communication (written, verbal, presentation) ability from floor level operations up to senior VP levels. Demonstrate excellent visualization & story telling skills.

o Capability to facilitate discussions and workshops at multiple organizational levels.

o Strong strategic mind, outstanding critical thinking, influencing, and interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are required.

o Demonstrates a passion to challenge the status quo and find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas; embraces change.

o PMP or a Project Management Certification is highly desirable. Demonstrated enterprise-wide knowledge and experience leading cross-functional teams.

  • Certifications/Licenses: Black Belt or Green Belt Certification is highly preferred. Six-Sigma and/or Lean certification preferred.
