LOCATION: Las Cruces Corps
STATUS: 6 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work with a diversity of people (age, gender, ethnicity, etc) .
Good communication skills.
Experience in working and managing children.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Must be fully PTM trained within the first 30 days of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a neat and orderly appearance. Greet parents & guardians with a smile and positive attitude.
Be flexible if there is an emergency that requires the priorities of the day to change.
Provide safe supervision of the children in the nursery during assigned corps programs.
Maintain a clean environment for the children to play in, such as keeping toys picked up and cleaned.
Be attentive to the children, i.e. change diapers as needed, give snacks, and bottles as directed by parent.
Notify supervisor or Corps Officer of anything that may have happened while the children were in your care.
Make sure the nursery is picked-up and things put in order including taking out of trash at end of the day and assist with other leaders in setting up and cleaning up following assigned programs.
No children over the age of seven (7) are to be in the nursery during church services without the supervisor or Corps officer’s approval.
Maintain PTM ratios of adult supervision to children, and notify supervisor when ratios are not met.
Clean nursery at the end of shift.
Other duties as assigned as they relate to the position of Child Care worker.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
