Position Summary
Operates ultrasound equipment to capture quality images in areas of abdomen, small parts, OB/GYN, and vascular exams. Assists physicians in various procedures and biopsies. Takes and documents patient history and technologist interpretation of scans. Performs pre and post processing of images and enters patient information in ARIS, Cerner and PACS computer systems. Provides quality patient care. Stocks supplies, performs general maintenance of machines and exam rooms. Mentors students as needed. Location may include Outpatient Imaging at the Izzo Building and the Outpatient Breast Center.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical, vocational or business school in Radiologic Technology or Ultrasonography; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in ultrasound examinations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. May require certification in a specialty area.
