Supply Chain Material Handler II - Peckham, Inc. Important Information:

  • Wage: $16.20/hr. + Health & Welfare Benefit

  • Location: Millett Warehouse (7100 Millett Hwy Lansing, MI)

  • Shift: 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

    Must have reliable transportation as this location is not on a bus line.

SUMMARY

Will work in a large warehouse environment receiving items from delivery trucks, sorting product by NSN and condition code and placing items in the appropriate warehouse area. They could also be picking items for outbound shipments, sorting inbound OCIE shipments or assembling/un-assembling kits. The persons in these positions will work relatively unsupervised throughout the day. Accuracy is extremely important, but speed is also a factor. The worker must be able to recognize discrepant 15-digit part numbers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use radio-frequency stock locator.

  • Reports any discrepancies in orders to shipping and receiving supervisor.

  • When required, key in 15-digit part numbers into computer.

  • Frequent daily lifting up to 10 pounds, moderate lifting up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.

  • Daily use of a push carts and motorized pallet jacks, bar code scanner and occasional use of computer.

  • Meets deadlines while ensuring accuracy.

  • Maintain warehouse equipment by following manufacturer’s standards of use and cleaning.

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment.

  • Work with supervisor towards meeting performance standards.

  • Accept other jobs/duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Motivated, self-directed, detail-oriented individual

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment; ability to effectively multi-task

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate with others effectively

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

  • Must be able to recognize discrepant 15-digit part numbers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
