TEKsystems Manual QA Tester in Lansing, Michigan

Description

Our client has 2 manual QA openings. This is for the largest and most high profile project with our client.

Top 3 Things:

  • Manual testing/QA experience (internship or professional)

  • BS Degree with a GPA of 3.0 or better

  • Ability to work within the United States without sponsorship

Manual QA skills/traits:

• Detail-oriented

• Analytical thinking - using logic and reasoning to reach conclusions and find strengths and weaknesses; Know what questions to ask, when/how to ask them

• Strong oral/written communication skills

• Collaboration skills - Willingness to work in a team and foster cross team coordination; QA's are essentially the liaisons of the group and need to bridge the gap between what business wants and what developers can do

• Creativity/curiosity

• Time management skills

• Flexible/Adaptable - Ability to multi-task and change directions as requirements change

• Self-Motivated

• Persistent - ability to voice opinion and focus on the best solution, when necessary

Bonus Manual QA skills/traits:

• Familiarity with SQL

• Familiarity with HP ALM (Quality Center)

• Understanding of claims workflows

• Familiarity with JIRA/Confluence (Atlassian products)

In addition to the above skills/traits, a QA Lead should also have the following:

• Patience…lots and lots of patience

• Skilled in organizational tools (One Note, Outlook, JIRA Boards, Confluence, etc.)

• Confidence

• Effective communicator

Manual QA Job responsibilities:

• Analyze the business requirements, system and risk associated with the change from both an end user and IT standpoint

• Collaborate with business and IT to document requirements and estimate testing efforts

• Develop testing scenarios and write clear test plans for both functional and regression testing

• Review test plans written by others

• Conduct manual test plans written by others within agile sprints

• Document test results and report issues

• Generate, compare and validate test data

• Work with internal and external development teams

-Manual QA experience

-Execute someone test plans that they wrote.

-Will review test plans and gain advice. -We require input from other and to other for test plans.

-Report issues, work with internal and external things. Claims Center is split into -2 different tracks and will be working with multiple teams.

-Basic knowledge of SQL, more of a bonus or must have. Will test with basic tables.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and relevant testing experience

• Must be able work in the Lansing office four days a week initially (adjustments may be made after training)

Position Overview:

This role involves evaluating and testing new or existing software applications. Responsibilities include writing, executing, maintaining, and assessing manual software development test cases to verify software functionality in accordance with user requirements and established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze business requirements and documentation.

  2. Develop test plans.

  3. Execute and document test cases.

  4. Conduct manual testing of software applications.

  5. Track and report defects using a defect-tracking tool.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
