McLaren Health Care Manager Catheterization Laboratory - McLaren Careers in Lansing, Michigan

Provides overall technical direction and administration to cardiac catheterization lab personnel, ensuring system of services delivery operates efficiently and effectively.

Regularly reviews and revises, as necessary, catheterization lab standards and ensures procedures performed comply with all hospital, system and regulatory agency standards.

Coordinates provision of catheterization lab services with other medical functions and serves as technical resource for departmental personnel. Meets and consults peers for policies, procedures, forms, instrumentation, equipment and supplies to promote standardization across the system.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

:

  1. Plans and administers directly, and through subordinate supervisory personnel, the effective management and delivery of diagnostic and treatment catheterization lab procedures in accordance with all hospital, system and regulatory agency standards.

  2. Ensures quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.

  3. Develops, secures approval of and administers capital and operating budgets in order to meet agreed-upon departmental goals and objectives.

Develops and implements appropriate methods to monitor adherence to budgets and resolve variances.

  1. Serves as technical resource to subordinates in resolving complex problems and in investigating and recommending corrective actions in response to incident reports and/or patient complaints.

  2. Reviews and approves recommendations for department equipment modifications, new supplies, and minor equipment purchases.

  3. Recommends and secures approval of major capital expense items initiating bidding process with vendors and upon approval, awarding bids.

  4. Fosters smoothly running catheterization lab function through timely and effective resolution of disruptions.

  5. Ensures the attainment of objectives through the selection, development, training and evaluation of catheterization lab staff.

  6. Ensures that all catheterization lab activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal, and governmental regulations and laws.

  7. Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, management or related health administration degree.

  • Three years progressively more responsible management experience in an acute care facility with at least one year of frequent involvement with senior management, physicians, other health care providers, and external providers and purchasers.

Preferred:

  • Graduate of an AMA approved program for radiologic technology or related field.

  • Master’s degree in business administration or health services administration.
