Job Highlights: * 403(b) Retirement Plan; * Career scholarships; * Quality training, continuing career education and leadership programs; * Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance * Paid Time Off (Vacation, Holiday & Sick Days) About the job: Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Pay: $20.00-$25.00 The Certified Dietary Manager is to provide quality food services in accordance with all State and Federal regulations and to meet the nutritional and individual needs of the participants. To assist the RD in the management of operations of the dietary department to include staffing, food ordering and preparation, food delivery and clean-up in accordance with facility policies, physician orders participant care plans and appropriate regulations. . Required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Nutrition - related Bachelor's Degree and or 2-yr. Associate Degree successful completion of state-approved food service management course (Certified Dietary Manager) preferred. * Friendly and enjoys working with the elderly. * Experience with food preparation in a long-term care setting. * Numerical ability necessary to make various computations in planning departmental objectives, keeping work records and schedules, preparing budgets, requisitioning supplies and monitoring inventory control. * Adequate strength and endurance to meet the strenuous physical demands of preparing and carrying quantity foods. * Visual acuity and color discrimination for examining cooked and stored foods; taste and smell discrimination for determining nutritional quality and palatability of foods. Preferred Skills: * Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, ins-servicing and documentation. Essentials: * Assist RD with ensuring proper supervision of the dietary department according to all state and federal regulations. * Directs participant nutritional needs planning program, as assigned by the RD * Responsible for managing kitchen and meal service * Contacts designated participants and/or families through routine and special visits; documents all pertinent dietary information (i.e., diet changes, eating habits and order changes). * Observes meal services in dining areas; obtain participant feedback on food quality, taste, appearance, temperature and service. * Ensures sanitation and safety standards are maintained plan and update cleaning schedules and complete follow through of all plans in place. * Participates in facility meetings as required. * Supervises and assists n workflow and food handling techniques of staff throughout meal preparation and service. * Responsible for ordering & delivering of supplements * Responsible for ordering day-center meals About Senior Community Care of Michigan: Senior Community Care of Michigan - PACE is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the Volunteers of America parent organization.
