Ultium Cells Overview:

Ultium Cells is a joint venture lithium-Ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solutions and General Motors. This new construction high-technology plant will have the latest battery cell manufacturing technology. The investment in this new business venture represents a commitment of more than $2.3 Billion. It will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors North American electric vehicle applications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collects and prepares data/information and perform detailed engineering calculations for HVAC system equipment, and dust and fume collection systems

• Utilizes computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks

• Assists in field work by coordinating system operations, checking installations, problem solving, and maintenance and repair

• Maintains effective communication with project team members, other departments, suppliers and clients

• Responsible for making sure all building systems meet the required clean room specifications

• Provide assistance to HVAC technicians in day to day work

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred; Or over 8 years of experience working in the Industrial HVAC field.

• PE preferred

• 2-4 years’ experience maintaining clean room systems is preferred.

• 5 or more years working in one or more of the following service areas: Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Polymers, Utility, Energy, and Manufacturing preferred.

• Knowledgeable in mechanical codes fire codes, and NFPA standards

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), Revit, and AutoCAD (3D preferred)

• Experience in plumbing design and fire protection systems a plus
